5. Objectives:

After graduation, learners of the course can become Vietnamese literature theorists at high schools, who are able to anticipate and implement fundamental and practical reforms effectively and totally at current high schools; to be able to participate in teaching literature theory at colleges and universities, researching at institutes, research centers of the field and at the same time continuing their study at doctoral level.

6. Output Standards:

6.1 Knowledge
  • Master major knowledge, undertake the job of experts in the field of researching and teaching Vietnamese literature.
  • Have critical thinking; have intensive knowledge to update modern, scientific knowledge of Vietnamese literature and continue studying at higher level.
  • Have ability to master and apply creatively knowledge of teaching literature into the practice of teaching in schools to meet the demand of fundamental and comprehensive education reform.
6.2 Skills
  • Build up and develop basic research skills in literature theory; provide students with the ability to apply achievements in literature theory into the practice of teaching at universities, colleges and schools.
  • Have skills of organizing professional activities such as outdoor activities, conference and forum
  • Develop self-studying skills, improve independent working ability in cooperation, bilateral research projects
  • Have creative thinking (critical thinking; exploring, decoding, and evaluating complex literary issues in real life)
  • Have good ability of foreign language so as to understand journals or speeches on topics related to major.
6.3 Requirement of foreign language:

B1 certificate (level 3/6) under 6 level Vietnam CEFR or equivalent (Appendix II, Circular 15, 15.May.2014 of the Ministry of Education and Training
6.4 Autonomous Ability and Responsibility:
  • Have good political qualifications, have ability to detect and solve problems related to profession.
  • Have ability to adapt to working environment and ability of professional leading; have passion and high responsibility with career.
  • Actively update new achievements of the field in the practice of teaching, researching, and managing..
